Meet the People of Today’s Britain Portrait of Britain is an annual photography competition and exhibition organised by British Journal of Photography, which features outstanding portraits of the people of Britain as captured by participating photographers. This year’s Portrait of Britain will also be manifest in book form. The wildly popular cultural project, now in its third year, will not only be exhibited on digital billboards, in train stations, bus stops and high streets up and down the country, it will also be published in print form in Portrait of Britain by Hoxton Mini Press on 6th September 2018. Comprised of images and text from each contributing photographer, the book of Portrait of Britain offers the viewers and readers a glimpse of the myriad different cultures of today’s Britain – from Welsh eco-communities to all-female muslim basketball teams – through scenes and their contexts in daily life. Portrait of Britain with a foreword by Will Self is published by Hoxton Mini Press. Portrait of Britain is organised by the British Journal of Photography in association with JCDecaux UK and takes place across the country each September.
