HomePhotographyLandscapes in the Moonlight Captured in the Dead of Night, Each of these Images Require Patience and Luck A fixation on landscapes and seascapes is definitely not uncommon in the photography world. However, these images by British photographer Paul Thompson give a strikingly dark edge to the scenic style. Taken in the dead of night, when it is so pitch black that Paul struggles to see his own camera in his hands, the photographs of his Moonlight series take up to two hours to expose. The resulting images are usually unpredictable as during the ultra-long exposure, light, clouds and water shift and stir, resulting in filmic-like scenes, which are thick with movement.
