Tuck In: Claudia Ficca’s Good Food

Catching Up With the NY Food Stylist and Her Mouth-Watering Works

Salmon-Taco
When we last spoke to New York food stylist Claudia Ficca, it was about her surreal project Cold Feet, which saw a series of dead animals being twisted into the most unlikely poses.

As the annual day of eating yourself comatose approaches, (otherwise known as Christmas day), we just had to talk to this food genius once again: to gawk at her saliva inducing latest work (photographed by her husband, Davide Luciano), as well as to get some of her awesome foodie tips. Obviously!

Claudia kindly gave us some pointers and secret food pleasures. Bon Appétit!

The Plus: Breakfast, lunch or dinner?
Claudia Ficca:
I love breakfast! It’s so fun because it can be sweet or savory or both! When I cook at home I like simple and quick recipes.

TP: Any top tips for preparing a Christmas meal?
CF:
Make things ahead of time so you can enjoy spending time with friends and family.

TP: What is the must-have thing on the table for Christmas?
CF:
For my family it’s fritelle (fried dough with cod or olives), fresh ravioli or Lasagne, followed by a roast lamb.

CF: Guilty pleasure after your Christmas meal?
TP:
Roasted chestnuts, panettone, Asti Spumante, clementines.
