Bulgarian Photographer, Manol Donev, capture his Dream Travel Destination

8
‘Visiting Iceland has been a dream of mine,’ Bulgaria-based, part-time creative Manol Donev told us about his recent trip, this November. ‘I really liked the country, and wanted to present it in its natural state, without getting too creative. I tried to keep Iceland looking “untouched”.’

Manol’s breathtaking landscape images show us a little of the scale of natural beauty that Iceland has to offer. The software engineer and photographer said that he feels most alive in nature, and has dreams to travel to Patagonia, Alaska, and Greenland in the future.

He is currently working on a photo project from his mountain bike trips over this past year. We caught up with Manolo to chat more about his work:

The Plus: What is the one thing you always keep in mind when photographing landscapes?
Manol Donev:
For me it is the composition of an image (keep in mind the golden ratio but do not shy away of breaking it if you feel like it – no rule is set in stone!)

TP: Did you do much editing in post-production?
MD:
No, I like experimenting in post-production but not this time. I applied only minor brightness/contrast/white balance adjustments in Lightroom.

TP: Your equipment of choice?
MD:
Much to the dismay of many I have always used Sony gear (never had Nikon or Canon). This project was shot with Sony a7r, SAL-2470Z.
