HomePhotographyNorthbound: Matthias Heiderich Capturing the Rhythm and Colour of Urban Landscapes Hamburg based photographer, Matthias Heiderich’s latest series entitled Northbound, has captured remarkable images of urban landscapes, unconventional architecture and scenes in the cities of Copenhagen, Malmö, Oslo, and Tromsø. The self-taught photographer originally had plans of becoming a Linguist before falling into his art, buying his first camera in 2008. His passion lies in documenting the shapes, patterns and colours in the city, which are not regularly highlighted. Although he never previously had a great interest in architecture, it was during his first steps in photography that he realised the beauty and appeal that even the more mundane of structures have in their details. It is because of this, that buildings, rather than people, are his main subjects of focus.
